We have no shortage of inputs telling us to be afraid, to think of everyone else as Other. Susan takes a look at Matthew 14:22-33 and the invitation Jesus offers us to be brave and nervy in the face of these fears, even when we might falter or fail, because courage is holier that the isolation and hatred we fall victim to when we cannot choose love in the face of fear.
